Hospice of the Panhandle, in collaboration with the National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation (NPHI), proudly announces the launch of the Advanced Pediatric Care™ Patient and Caregiver Guide – a new resource created to support families caring for children with serious illness.
On Thursday, July 30, Hospice of the Panhandle’s Transportation Team, Victoria Hough and Ashley Rogers, helped make a special wish come true for Larry M. Myers, a former horse jockey and trainer, by taking him and his wife to the Charles Town Race Track to watch the races and reminisce about his time with horses.

Hospice of the Panhandle has launched a new Companion Volunteer (CV) Program, expanding volunteer opportunities that support patients, families, and staff within the organization’s Inpatient Facility. The program officially begins Monday, July 20, and is designed to enhance the experience of those receiving inpatient hospice care through compassionate companionship and meaningful engagement.

We’re looking for amazing volunteers to help honor our veterans, and a WV-licensed cosmetologist to bring a little extra care and confidence with haircuts for our patients.
Individuals volunteer in many roles, including patient support, where they help hospice patients and their families through providing a break for caregivers, assisting with household errands and similar chores and providing transportation.
Friends, family and co-workers all gathered to recognize Cogswell and all the incredible work she’s done throughout her 36 years with Hospice of the Panhandle. Guests lined up to congratulate Cogswell and thank her for everything she’d done.
