Phil Ernst, my dear and loving brother, was one of the kindest and loving brothers anyone would ever want to have. He was the same type of Marine when he served in the USMC immediately upon his graduation from high school in 1963. He was seen all across the country when his picture was on the U.S. Mail trucks advertising the USMC. He was chosen for that, as told to him, because he was so photogenic. He had several top honors while serving in the marines. He never had one enemy, and he was well liked and admired by everyone especially by his happy smile, deep dimples, blue eyes, and always willing to help others. Phil had a nursery and garden center in Hedgesville, WV, and could tell you the botanical names of every plant he had. Phil loved to fish and held a Captains license to take fishing boats out. He loved doing that especially in Alaska and St. Michaels, Maryland.
My dear brother, Phil, is sorely missed by many but mostly by me, his dear and loving sister, Shirley. I will be so happy when the day comes when once again I will be with my brother in his heavenly home. Rest in peace Phil, God will take care of you. Love you, Shirl
