When families come to our Inpatient Facility (IPF), they’re often walking through our doors during one of the hardest moments in their lives. They deserve a place that feels peaceful, comforting, and full of compassion – which is what we strive to provide every single day.
For more than 12 years, our IPF has been a place where patients and families can focus on what matters most: spending meaningful time together. As our facility continues to serve our community, it’s time to invest in the space that has cared for hundreds of local families.
Through our Friendship Drive, we’re raising funds to refresh and revitalize our facility, upgrade our nurse call systems, and update essential furnishings and equipment. These improvements will help us continue providing the best care our patients deserve while creating an even more welcoming and effective environment for families and our staff.
Every gift, no matter the size, helps make these improvements possible. Together, we can ensure our Inpatient Facility remains a place of comfort, dignity, and compassion for every family who walks through our doors.

Hospice of the Panhandle Welcomes Six New Team Members!
On June 1, Hospice of the Panhandle welcomed SIX new staff members to the team! From direct patient care to behind-the-scenes, our new team members bring experience, dedication, and enthusiasm to helping our community.
The new staff members include:

- Abby Lewis, CNA (Potomac Team)
- Amy Jones, RN (After-Hours Team)
- Wendy Scofield, RN (Access)
- Madelyn Arce, RN (Shenandoah Team)
- Samantha Fridley (Marketing)

Hospice of the Panhandle Hosts Annual Hollywood Nights Event
On June 5, staff, volunteers, businesses, and supporters gathered at the Bavarian Inn in Shepherdstown for the annual Hollywood Nights fundraising event. We are excited to share that this year’s event raised approximately $302,250 to support the care we provide to patients and their families throughout the Eastern Panhandle!

Hospice of the Panhandle would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Berkeley Springs VFW Post 4019 for their incredible generosity. Earlier this year, they donated $20,000 to support our organization and surprised us at Hollywood Nights with an additional $15,000 contribution.

Bank of Romney Donates $1,000 from Employee Fundraiser
We want to extend a HUGE thank you to the employees of Bank of Romney for their generous support of our organization. Through their employee dress-down day fundraiser, they raised and donated $1,000 to help us continue to provide the best care and support to patients and their families.

I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream!
Our staff recently enjoyed a sweet surprise when Almost Heaven Frozen Custard & Treats stopped by to serve delicious treats for our team! The visit was a wonderful way to show appreciation for the care and dedication our staff provides every day.
We were also happy to share this wonderful day with our Board Members!
We are incredibly grateful to Almost Heaven Frozen Custard & Treats for their kindness and generosity. We also want to extend a special thank you to our CHAMPS Committee for finding meaningful ways to celebrate our employees and create moments of joy throughout the year.
New Class of Volunteers Join Hospice of the Panhandle
Hospice of the Panhandle is proud to welcome our newest class of volunteers! After completing their training, they are ready to serve our patients and families with compassion, kindness, and support. Their willingness to give their time and skills reflects the heart of our mission and strengthens the care that Hospice of the Panhandle continues to provide.
Our volunteers play a vital role in hospice care by offering companionship, assisting with special projects, and providing comfort during life’s most meaningful moments. We are excited to have these new volunteers join our organization and look forward to the difference they will make in the lives of those we serve!
